Most resumes fail because it’s not clear who you are. Don’t just list job descriptions. At the top, include: Who you are Your top strengths Why you’re looking for work Keep experience simple and clear. If you jump jobs frequently, explain why. Most people look at unemployment rates. I look at jobs per people. A healthy market should look something like 1 job for every 50 people. That means opportunities exist and the market has room to move. But some cities look more like 1 job for every 300 people. When that happens, every job posting gets flooded. Hundreds of applicants. Massive competition. A lot of people fighting for very few opportunities. On the surface it looks like “lots of candidates.” In reality, it’s a signal that there simply aren’t enough jobs.
